PRIVACY POLICY of Lifesaver 101

Lifesaver 101 respects the privacy of individuals in all aspects of our business operations. We have a longstanding commitment to protecting the personal information of job seekers when providing services to our clients. Your personal information is collected, used and disclosed by Lifesaver 101 in accordance with this Privacy Policy only.

WHY DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

As a jobseeker using our services, you are asked to pass on certain pieces of information so that we might provide you with the best possible service. In addition to your contact details, your resume, and a description of the type of work you are looking for, your file may include the following:

  1. Our interview notes;
  2. Information obtained through reference checks; and
  3. Your educational records.
For temporary or contract staffing arrangements, we also require the following:
  1. Information required for us to provide payroll services, including banking details, tax deductions and vacation allowances.

WHY DO WE USE THIS INFORMATION?

Lifesaver 101 uses your personal information
  1. to understand your qualifications, needs and preferences;
  2. to determine and offer suitable employment opportunities with a view to ensuring your job satisfaction; and
  3. to provide payroll and other human resources functions to you for permanent, contract, or temporary employment arrangements.
Lifesaver 101 collects only personal information that is required to fulfill these purposes, unless requested by a client and voluntarily provided by the jobseeker.

WHEN DO WE DISCLOSE PERSONAL INFORMATION AND TO WHOM?

Your personal information is never traded, sold or leased by Lifesaver 101 to any external company. Your information is disclosed for our legitimate business purposes only, or as required to meet legal and regulatory requirements (for example, to comply with a court order).

We may share information with our affiliates, partners, contractors or other companies (collectively, “representatives”) that we use to provide full staffing services. However, we disclose limited information only as required for the function that will be performed by any representative on our behalf. We also ensure that every contract we enter into with a representative clearly outlines that representative’s obligation to protect your personal information and honor our privacy principles.

HAVE YOU CONSENTED?

Having read this policy, and by using our services and providing us with your personal information, we imply your consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information as specified herein. Wherever possible and when necessary, we obtain your express consent for particular uses and disclosures.

Your consent is assumed if we feel we are using your personal information only for purposes that are obvious to you, and for your benefit. For example, if you list the names and phone numbers of your previous employers on your resume for reference checking purposes, we will not seek your express consent before consulting these individuals.

HOW DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION SECURE?

Existing staff policies and procedures are in place to ensure that your personal information, in both paper and electronic format, is both respected and secure.

For example, from our staff we require the following:
  1. That all filing cabinets remain locked when our office is closed;
  2. That access to electronic and paper files is limited on a need-to-know basis, depending on job function;
  3. That password protection on computers both in our supervised or locked office, and on laptops, makes unauthorized entry difficult; and
  4. That staff training on the importance of privacy and security is undertaken regularly and updated in accordance with established Lifesaver 101 security protocol.
Through our website you can ask questions about our services and provide information about yourself through your resume and additional comments. If you transmit personal information to us via unencrypted e-mail, you should be aware of the inherent risks over which we have no control (i.e., interception by an unauthorized party).

HOW CAN YOU ACCESS YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND CHECK ITS ACCURACY?

Lifesaver 101 relies on the information provided by you and third parties, such as educational institutions, individuals offering references, or those conducting background checks. You may at any time make a written request for access to your personal information.

Lifesaver 101 strives to maintain accurate records of your personal information; this can be achieved with your help only. In this ongoing effort, we ask that you provide us with your most up-to-date information. Please use the e-mail address listed below to let us know of any personal information you may have given in the past that is incomplete, inaccurate, no longer relevant, or is simply content that you would like replaced. It will be our pleasure to render appropriate modifications.
